Replacing Missing Teeth
You don't often realise how much you need something until it's gone
'Use your healthy teeth to support a replacement tooth'
What is a dental bridge?
If you are missing some teeth but your remaining teeth are healthy, you can use the healthy teeth to support a replacement tooth.
What types of dental bridge do you offer?
At Vitruvian Dental Studio we offer a range of different designs.
Conventional bridges involve removing the slight outer layer of the supporting teeth in order to place a crown over the top, attached to this crown is the replacement tooth. This has the benefit of being extremely sturdy.
We also offer resin-bonded bridges, which involve no damage to the supporting teeth. A thin wing is wrapped around the supporting tooth to which a fake tooth is attached.
How do I care for my bridge?
Almost identically to your natural teeth. Dependent on the design we may recommend a special type of floss to floss underneath the bridge.
What is the process?
It is vital to check the health of the supporting teeth before considering a bridge. We need to check the teeth are strong and not likely to break and they have plenty of bone support. We can do this at a consultation where we will take X-rays and complete a thorough assessment, we will create your treatment plan on the same day.
Some examples of our bridgework cases
This case involved replacing some missing teeth and creating a new smile. The health of the teeth was assessed to ensure bridgework was suitable and conventional bridgework was used to replace the missing back teeth combined with crowns on the front teeth to match.
This case involved a full mouth rehabilitation and transformation. A full mouth assessment and careful planning involving creating a wax version of the bridges and veneers was completed. The trial smile was tried on and any adjustments were made before creation of the final work.
This case involved replacing failing crowns and bridges. The work was planned in wax on some models of the patient's teeth, this was then tried in and any adjustments made before the final restorations were created. The crowns and bridges were replaced creating this beautifully natural result.

''Replace a missing tooth'
What is a dental implant?
A tooth is divided into two parts. The root of the tooth (the bit of the tooth in your jaw bone) and the crown of the tooth (the bit of your tooth you see in your mouth). A dental implant is a replacement tooth root, onto which we can place either a single crown or a bridge (multiple teeth stuck together).
What can dental implants be used for?
Dental implants can be used to replace from one tooth to a full mouth replacement.
What dental implant services do you offer?
We offer a wide range of different implant options all under one roof. We have experienced oral surgeons and implantologists on our team who place implants almost every day.
